As soon as Vijay walked out of Shankar’s remake of 3 Idiots, there were reports that he has plans to make his political entry soon.
And now, the actor has denied such reports. "At the moment, I’m happy and content being an actor. I can’t stop people from writing imaginative stories about me entering politics," Vijay clarified to a leading daily.
On the other hand, the Tamil Nadu theatre owners and distributors unanimously decided to demand refund of a portion of the amounts they invested in Vijay’s 50th film Sura, since it bombed at the box office.
Now, since the actor has failed to fulfill this demand of the theatres owners, the Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners’ Association has decided to boycott his forthcoming film Kaavalan until an amicable settlement is reached.
According to the theatre owners, Vijay has to pay 30% of the loss suffered by theatres, which approximately works out to Rs. 3 crores.
Vijay’s Kaavalan, directed by Siddique, is scheduled for worldwide release on December 24, 2010.
