A boy who was on the verge of death was saved and is said to be recovering fast. The boy in question is Yashwanth, a seven-year old boy from the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, who had been suffering from blood pressure from his toddler days. Often, he would have bouts of head-ache besides having to put up with blood oozing from his nose.
His parents, who were below the poverty line, tried their luck with many doctors in the State but couldn’t get their illness treated as doctors had given up hope and asked the parents to ‘pray’ to the Almighty for a miracle to save their son. The doctors’ argument was that any surgery attempted on the child might end up as detrimental to his health, thereby endangering his life.
The parents heard about Raghava Lawrence’s charitable Trust and approached him. Lawrence, on his part, took the kid to actor Vijay who simply asked Lawrence to go ahead with the treatment and that assured that he’d take care of the financial side of it.
The kid, admitted to Malar Hospitals, was diagnosed to be having ‘problems’ in the valve connecting his kidney and heart and the doctors said that the treatment might cost him several lakhs of rupees. After Vijay took care of medical expenses, the child managed to escape the clutches of death, thanks to the hard work and sincere effort put in by doctors at the Malar hospital.
Yashwant’s parents met Vijay during the shooting schedule of ‘Kaavalan’ and were left speechless as they were moved by the star’s help in bringing back their son from the jaws of death. Vijay pacified them and advised them to have a safe journey back home!
